Final Client Meeting/Heartbeat Retro

So as the title says, today was the last meeting we had with our client. Before doing so , we had our stand-up meeting, everyone was feeling a bit anxious to know whether our client would like the product. Everything was complete at this point and so, nothing extra was mentioned, we played back our product to check it was good, and gathered everything waiting for our client.

Our client then came over and the presentation begun, with us showing our final product, we were quite happy that the voice was in sync with the moving images and it expressed the information clearly across to the audience, as well as hitting exactly the 3 minutes marks. Once the product was inspected we received our feedback which was very positive. A few points were mentioned such as:

– It was good that the voice was adjusted and slowed down

– Finding Powtoon and learning how to use it was excellent

– It was easy to watch, better than a power point presentation

And then we moved onto talking about the process.

How we found it and and how do we think it could be useful in the future. We mentioned that it is great for fast incremental improvement, it helps to establish a good team relation without the need of a leader, and it addresses all small tasks very clearly, resulting in everything being completed and nothing being missing, as the stories are easy to see on the story-map.

With these point all left to do is our Reflection, and that is the project done.

We have found it incredibly fun, and at no point was it tedious, all members contributed well and our product in our eyes looks great. I definitely understand now, why many software companies use an Agile methodology.

Thank you for reading!

Improvement of Artefacts/Video is Complete!

Our regular stand-up meeting took place today as normal.

Vivian showed the final script which she had produced, Socrates had worked on the video since the last meeting, and Ivan had also. And as for me, I had completed the final storyboard, which included just one scene, as the other storyboards covered the rest of the video.

One problem was bought up during the stand-up meeting. And it was something serious, the length of the video was too long and the scene transition was proving to be buggy when playing the video.

However we quickly worked together and addressed these problems, cutting the voice over even more, and changing some parts of the video so the transition was smooth.

Now we finished the video by adding a small ‘Thank you for watching scene’ and that’s the video presentation done. It looked great, and was exactly 3 minutes, which was perfect. With this we ticked off our final user story, being the presentation, completing our user story map’s life cycle.

Everything is now COMPLETE!!! yes! So we as a group are just making sure everything is in order for our final client meeting, double checking all documentation is done, and if the team is happy with what we have produced.

Finishing Touches

Quick update on the progress. So today we met up in class, as always we had our usual stand-up meeting, I showed the team my final storyboard, and asked for any suggestions. The team said that they had been working on the story board and the video the last time they met, when I was absent.

Socrates mentioned a few problems that we were facing as a team in regards to the voice over being 3 minutes and 50 seconds which is too long, I volunteered to redo it, but in order for it to be shorter, I warned them that we would have to remove some parts of the script, the team agreed, we originally were going to talk about every topic on the list associated with extreme programming, but we decided it was best to remove the last one, in order to shorten the presentation.

Ivan, Vivian and I were finding it difficult to grasp the concept of the user story mapping, but were quickly filled in by Maria.

After the script was shortened and the voice-over redone, Socrates was handed over the file and begun implementing it to the presentation, which was the final part.

Currently the video is complete, the Heartbeat retrospectives have been done at the end of every sprint, all three storyboards(one for each sprint) as well as all three scripts are read for demonstration, the Project Charter is good, the Stand-up meetings have been done Every time we have been together, and it is all being documented.

We now have 1 week to finish our user story map and make sure it is well presentable on the blog with all tasks for each sprint done.

Bellow are some pictures of today’s meeting.

Stand-up meeting/Product Update

This week and next are the final two weeks for the project, the team is close to finishing , the video however needs a few changes and so it is currently our main goal , the sprint and the storyboard are a good standard and are ready for demonstration not to say they cant be improved , which is something we are always on the look out for.

Today the team met with my exception(Vitor), as I was informed a stand-up meeting was performed and each chose a story from the user story board to get working on. Vivian and Ivan started to improve our story board, making it more presentable for the final hand-in and Socrates, begun working on the final scene of the presentation and adding the final bits.
